CFG-FLA-A. Albert Paxton Maltby, b. June 18, 1851, Sandusky, Ohio (Lauren B.6, Jesse 5, Benj.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). He grew up in Keokuk, Iowa. In 1872, went to Hutchinson, Kansas, and was one of the early business men of that city. He operated a foundry until 1883, for the next ten years was master mechanic for the Santa Fe Railroad Company, and in 1892 took up ranching, a business he followed for a number of years. From 1903 to 1907, he was a state engineer at the State House at Topeka, was a merchant at Belvue, Kansas, from 1907 to 1910; and then returned to his ranch twelve miles northeast of Hutchinson. In 1913 he retired and has since made his home in the city of Hutchinson. He is a Republican and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Albert Paxton Maltby m. May 9, 1880, Laura Olivia Shipman, who was b. at Kalamazoo, Mich., May 8, 1856, and d. at Hutchinson, Nov. 4, 1919.
